Walnut with Shrimp & Chives

Ingredients

* 1 lb shrimp, peel and devein
* 1 cup walnuts
* 3 cloves minced garlic
* 1 tb. Hoisin sauce
* 1 tbsp. cornstarch
* salt and pepper to taste
* 1 cup canola oil
* 1 cup of fresh chopped chives
* touch of sugar

 

 

 

 

 

Blanch walnuts in boiling salty water for 3 minutes. Drain and pat dry. Air dry for another 30-60 minutes

 

 

 

 

Heat canola oil, add walnuts and fry on medium heat until golden brown for about 15 minutes. Drain off oil, set aside.

 

 

 

 

Mix cornstarch with shrimp, salt and pepper.

 

 

 

 

 

Heat 1 tbsp. of canola in medium frying pan. Add minced garlic and fry 30 sec, add shrimp. Stir fry on high for 4-5 minutes until shrimp are cooked.

Season with1 tbsp. Hoisin sauce. Remove shrimp, set aside.

 

 

 

 

Heat 1/2 tb canola oil in pan, add chopped chives, stir fry on high for 3 minutes.

 

 

 

 

 

Add shrimp and walnuts and touch of sugar to finish.
