Pork Ribs with Shiitake Mushroom

Ingredients

* 1 lb of baby back ribs. Ask the butcher to cut the meat vertically, and then into one inch pieces. Wash and drain, then dry
* 1 tablespoon of rice wine
* 6-8 pieces of soaked shiitake mushrooms, cut into quarters
* 2 tablespoons of sweet rice, soaked two hours then drained
* 4 cloves garlic, 5 slices ginger,  4 pieces Jujube dates
* 1 tablespoon of Goji berries soaked in rice wine
* 2 chopped green onions to garnish
* 2 teaspoons sugar
* 2 tablespoons soy sauce
* 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
* 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
* 1/2 tablespoon cornstarch

 

 

 

 

 

 

Combine ribs with garlic, ginger, sweet rice and jujube dates. Marinate in two tablespoons of soy sauce, one tablespoon of rice wine, one tablespoon of oyster sauce, and two teaspoons of sugar for two hours. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Put shiitake mushrooms at the bottom of your steaming dish, cover with marinated ribs. Sprinkle half a tablespoon of corn starch over the marinated meat, mix well, then cover and steam for thirty minutes. Two minutes before time is up add Goji berries.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Add green onion on top before serving.
