Brain Tonifying Old Fire Soup
Ingredients
* 1 lb lean pork butt
* 3 oz walnuts
* 1 and a half oz fox nut (qian shi)
* 1 oz Chinese wild yam (huai shan, huai shan yao)
* 3 slices ginger
* 1 slice dried tangerine peel (chei pi)
* Salt to taste
Blanch the pork butt for 3-5 minutes, rinse and drain. Cut it into small pieces.
Put all ingredients in a slow cooker with 8-10 cups of water and cook for 4 hours.
Season with a pinch of salt.
